I decided to start a new thread since my previous one on 'Empty Project' is really on a different topic. I started a new project to use a PIC16F1619. I went through the different project setup steps OK until I got to step 6, Select Compiler. The PBP3 tool chain was not listed, only MPASM. The release text file that I got when purchasing the PBP3 (Gold) package stated that the 16F1619 was added for version 3.0.8 (the version I have). Also, the PIC16F1619.INFO and PIC16F1619.PBPINC files were included and are in the directories with the other.INFO and.PBPINC files. Tools>Options>Build Tools shows that PBP3 is the selected tool chain.

Using his method of editing the.JAR and.NBM files, I've created an updated NBM that should install in MPLABX by clicking Tools > Plugins > Downloaded > Add Plugins., then browse to the saved nbm file to add and install. Extract the NBM from this zip: I would appreciate it if some of you would test this and let me know if it installs ok. In my testing, I didn't have to uninstall anything first. It should see that the new file is an updated version and overwrite the currently installed plugin.

A restart is necessary. If I don't hear any wailing and gnashing of teeth, I'll submit this to Microchip for inclusion in their plugin repository. The version of this plugin is 3.0.8, so it matches the compiler.

I will try to continue this practice. The supported device list matches that of PBP 3.0.8 Gold Edition. I did not succeed in fixing the PicBasic Language Syntax plugin.

If it is installed, you will not be able to open PBP files. I will ask Microchip for help, but I'm not confident that the syntax plugin will survive.
